Funding

Is there a registration fee for the competition?

No, there is no registration fee.

Does the Finnish Red Cross pay for my travels and accommodation?

As a principle, the Finnish Red Cross does not cover the costs for travels to and from the competition and accommodation. You should primarily contact your University for covering the costs, many Universities have also grant funds you can apply for. Please note that applying for grants/University support may take considerable time, so start the process immediately.

If the team is unable to get funding from other sources and costs for travels and accommodation would prevent the participation to the competition, the team can apply for restricted financial aid from the Finnish Red Cross.

Preparing for the competition

One of the enrolled team members is unable to participate. Can we still participate?

If one of the team members is unable to participate, please contact the organizers immediately.

How much should my team prepare?

The time allocated for the preparation is up to the team participating. However, each team must write three 1000 word papers during the application and preparation process. In addition, each team receives a material package of conventions, academic articles and other material and should familiarize themselves with this material. The Finnish Red Cross offers training (8 hours) for the participating teams.

When will we receive the material package?

The material package is distributed to the teams shortly after the selection of the teams.
