International Humanitarian Law (IHL)
The rules of war – treaties of international humanitarian law (IHL)
The rules of war, or treaties of international humanitarian law, aim to limit the effects of armed conflict. Dissemination of information about the rules of war is one of the bnasic tasks of the Red Cross.
International humanitarian law (IHL) group Northern and Central Helsinki
Our IHL group is brand new and our activities are and will be chosen by the volunteers involved and who come along. We started out as bilingual (Finnish + English). We invite everyone interested in humanitarian law to join and learn together and from each other.
We hope to meet face to face as much as possible (e.g. in Oodi). However, we reserve the opportunity for remote participation. We meet for groupmeetings about once a month. Group meetings can be thematic discussions, expert visits, , film evenings and other programme to deepen the knowledge of humanitarian law.
The basic course was held January 2025. Course attendance or prior knowledge is not required! New volunteers are welcome throughout the year!
